In an unfortunate turn of events, Bengali filmmaker Kamaleshwar Mukhopadhyay was detained by Kolkata Police while staging a protest near the Rashbehari crossing. Yes, you read that right! Kamaleshwar along with a few CPI (M) workers were first taken to Lalbazar and later they were released in the evening. As per media reports, it all started after an alleged attack on a Left party bookstall. This incident has irked not just netizens but also the Tollywood film industry as they came out in support of Kamaleshwar.

Singer Sona Mohapatra, who is known to share her opinion on social media, has slammed Indian TV channels for featuring 'MeToo' accused celebrities on shows. She condemned the makers and channel for roping in filmmaker Sajid Khan on Bigg Boss 16. Popular Odia singer Murali Mohapatra passed away at the age of 59 during his performance at Durga Puja cultural event in Odisha’s Koraput district. As per his family members, the singer collapsed and died while performing on the stage. Jeypore-based singer, who was unwell before his performance, reportedly sat down on a chair after singing four songs. He was immediately rushed to a hospital after he collapsed. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.
